Hey Everybody!
I love the changes associated with Fall! I've been especially aware of them this year as I,ve witnessed the unbelievable grandeur of New England during the recent " Leafer's Weekend" in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Not to miss mentioning our own amazing change of seasons right here in Utah. These changes always lead me to consider the value of and maybe even the divine purpose inherent in change. Because the only aspect of life that is constant...is change. I like to consider the possibility that one purpose for change might reside in our need to be nudged out of our comfort zones to experience life in contexts we might not otherwise choose to explore. With this in mind, I have decided to explore some fundamental changes in my class offerings at Avondale.
During the first week of November, I will offer trial classes at 8 am (Mon. 11/3 & Wed. 11/5) AND at 8 pm (Tues. 11/4 & Thur. 11/6). These trials will be in addition to my regular 5 & 6 am classes
(where I will thankfully have subs to help me out during trial week). My ultimate goal is to explore the need for change. I have heard from many of you over the years that you would love to attend classes if they weren't so "crazy early" (your words), so I am finally doing something about it. (Be careful what ya ask for...cuz ya just might get it!) If we have enough interest in holding classes at later time periods, I will accommodate...and you won't have any excuse NOT to get fit! I will offer segment from possible classes we might add to the schedule during those time frames.
SOOOO...spread the word and let me know if you are interested in attending during one or both of these time frames: Mon/Wed @ 8 am or T/Th @ 8 pm at Avondale Academy 1417 Lakeview Terrace Rd.
Email me with questions at befitwithjolie@gmail.com.
Hugs!

Are you UP...for a short term CHALLENGE?
How about joining others in our group to run the Oct. 11th Park City Pink Series 5K or Half Marathon?!!
Aaron Crosby, owner of UTAH RUN (a major sponsor of the PINK Series in Park City) just offered our group a sweet deal. Be Fit With Jolie clients will recieve a 25% discount. I realize this won't leave us much time to train, but even if you choose to do the 5K...it will be a blast! Chantel Adams (my new BE FIT ASSISTANT:) will be heading up some running groups for training between now and Oct. 11th. Yep...she's the one who can run a sub 7 minute mile...but is so great at being what is needed for the rest of us
FYI... The Pink Series was established for girl runners (sorry guys). The goal is to provide a womens retreat where women can run an awesome event, and party after. The pink series continues to grow each year. The pink Series is Utah's Largest womens only event, and race party.
This is a great opportunity for our group to once again support an important cause. Each year the pink series staff picks a charitable cause to donate to. The Charity they have chosen this year is The Image Reborn Foundation. Their mission is to provide no-cost healing retreats to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The focus is on encouraging women to reclaim their sense of personal power and to strengthen them in their journey toward healing on all levels and living fully.

X Fit HIIT Training (Full body - High Intensity Interval Training designed to build strength and endurance.)
M-W-F @ 6 AM: (These classes are designed to develop specified major muscle groups each day.)

W= Upper BODYBLAST

Come join me TOMORROW! I have some 'special' workouts planned that I KNOW will challenge you :)
SATURDAY CLASSES: As many of you know, I have worked with Westlake over the past 4 years to offer a Saturday workout free of charge to our community. It is something we have to renegotiate year by year. I have heard we will be able to begin in January 2015 and will keep you updated on things as they develop.
YOGA: I am still working on adding Yoga to the schedule. Abby has been out of town, but will be available in mid October to begin...if we have the interest. We are looking at Thursdays at 8:30 pm as our day and time to begin with.
EMAIL ME at befitwithjolie@gmail.com if you have interest in attending Yoga and/or would like to be added to the nightly group text. This text will let you know what to bring and what to plan for re: the workout for the next day...and will help you to follow through on your overall fitness plan.

SUMMER BOOTCAMP = Triathlon Sprint Training!
SUMMER BOOTCAMP: Info Meeting - FRIDAY MAY 16th @ 6 am at Avondale Academy (1417 Lake View Terrace Rd). Anna Marie Miller (seasoned triathlete) will be coaching with me this season. We will explain what you will need for equipment, our training plan, nutritional advice, and answer questions about participating the TriathaMOM Sprint on August 16, 2014.
NOTE: Registration for BOOTCAMP will be available RIGHT HERE on this site before the May 16th information meeting. However - in the mean time I recommend that you pay the $25 reservation fee to reserve your spot ASAP. Registration is limited to 15 participants each month. Only 5 spots left for June as of today. Reserve yours by contacting me at befitwithjolie@gmail.com, and arranging to pay your fee. THIS IS A ONE-TIME ONLY FEE.
Here's how it works: You will pay the one time $25 fee to hold your spot. Then when the registration form is available on this blog, you will be asked to list any dates you know you will be gone during the training. If you leave for more than a week on vacation - someone on the wait list will be included in your place. That means you will lose your spot and if desired, you will be added to the end of the wait list. I know that sounds harsh...but we have so many wanting to take advantage of this training at such a discounted rate, that we need you to COMMIT if you are going to take a spot.
Here's the good news :) You can earn your $25 fee back if you attend ALL training sessions AND participate in ANY triathlon sprint before school starts at the end of August. Keep in mind that bereavement or illness do NOT count as vacation - so you can't lose your spot for those reasons.
The monthly training fee is $50 per month and includes training on M-W-F and a few Saturday sessions. Payment is due the 1st day of the month - no grace period. The only other costs associated with this training are the registration for a Triathlon Sprint of your choice and sport specific equipment that you don't already own.
You can participate in ANY triathlon sprint this summer. However, the women in our group will be encouraged to join Anna Marie and myself at TriathaMOM in Riverton, UT on August 16th. TriathaMOM is a fully supported, non-competitive, women only triathlon. Make no mistake, this is a REAL triathlon sprint, (300 meter swim, 12 mile bike ride, and 5k run) complete with the REAL triathlon experience of chip timing, body marking, and intense feeling of accomplishment. But it is an opportunity to "tri" a triathlon in a comfortable atmosphere for first timers! If you would like to participate on a relay team (only performing one leg of the triathlon) you can do that. For example, if you don't have access to a bike, you might consider getting 2 of your friends to join you in the relay.
Go to the site for more details about the relay and/or to register before June 1 for early bird discounts: www.gotriathamom.com/
I can't tell you how excited we are to offer this opportunity this year! Contact me if you have questions: befitwithjolie@gmail.com.

AMAZING Challenge for Change Results!!
Twenty women from Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain, Highland, Alpine and Orem, Utah accepted the fourth annual Be Fit with Jolie - 12 Week Challenge for Change and seventeen finished with our most amazing results yet!
Our High Point/Overall Winner, Tonette Roberts (67 years young) gained 10 pounds of muscle, lost 9.6 % body fat as measured at the BYU Bod Pod, (+/- 2 % research grade method of measuring body composition) and had a net loss of 16 pounds. She has also trimmed 4" off her hips and 4" off her waist. She was thrilled to share these results (even her age) because she wants others to know it is not only possible to get better as you age - it can be a reality if you are willing to try something new and follow it through!
Every ONE of our finishers lost at least 2% body fat, with the average being almost 5%. Our highest body fat percentage loss accomplished by Brittney McClellan at 9.9%. Our highest inches/dress sizes loss was Meg McInnes. Meg took 6"off waist and hips and dropped in clothing size from a 10 to a size 4! For some, being a "finisher" was enough to celebrate. For others, being willing to learn and apply new strategies in the face of their fear of failure was the ultimate success.
But I want to make an even more poignant point: These women SHOWED UP to work outs at 5:00 am, and some attended DAILY! And...they kept showing up for 12 weeks. They followed a weekly meal plan, attended strategy sessions and participated in our sponsored 5k/10k race to benefit Westlake High School Marching Band. These are the results that came through hard work, courage, and even willingness to replace Dr. Pepper and Diet Coke with WATER! It wasn't easy...but ask any one of them and they will tell you it was more than worth it. Many discovered their true power and beauty within as their bodies reluctantly began to change. They began with a goal to have a life changing experience, and in the end...they are changing lives.
Girls, you have truly ignited the fire within! Now it is time to do something significant with your results. The only thing left for me to say is...burn baby, burn!! And, that if I am still living in Utah in February 2015, there WILL BE ANOTHER Be Fit With Jolie CHALLENGE FOR CHANGE! :)
